Red Velvet Cookies

So tomorrow we are going to Bob's Riverside place (we call it Bob's backyard) and I needed to make something that was easily transportable.  I looked up a bunch of recipes for cookies because they were easy to transport so I found red velvet cookies.

What you need are:

11/3 cup flour
2 tbls. Hershey's cocoa
1 tea. baking powder
1/4 tea. baking soda
1/2 tea. salt

Mix all of them together.  Get out a seperate bowl and cream together:

half a stick of butter (1/4 cup)
1 cup of sugar

Add:

2 eggs
2 tbls. buttermilk
2 tbls. apple cider vinagear
1 tea. vanilla
2 tbls. red food coloring

Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients.
Chill in the freezer for 10 minutes.
Drop little balls on parchment paper on a baking sheet.

Bake for 10 minutes
You can make woopie pies with them or eat them plain.
If you make woopie pies you need
red velvet cookies
cream cheese frosting
walnut crumbs (optional)

Frost the bottom of a cookie and put another cookie ontop and push down.

If you used the nuts you can roll the edge in them.
Enjoy!
